The Paper

Bombala and district population is currently around 3,000 and has been served by the Bombala Times since 1863, making it one of the State’s oldest newspapers. The household penetration of the paper exceeds 90 per cent as the paper is the common link between business and the local population.

The Market

Bombala is a historic town situated halfway between the Snowy Mountains and the Sapphire Coast. Because of its location Bombala attracts an increasing amount of tourism traffic and spending.

Bombala is predominantly known as the centre of a strong softwood timber industry with excellent prospects for growth through processing.

Sheep and beef cattle contribute to the economic stability of the Bombala business sector.

The future outlook for Bombala is positive with plans for a multi-purpose wharf at Eden which will serve Bombala’s softwoods and pulp manufacturing industry.
