The Paper The Wauchope Gazette is a well-read and highly regarded newspaper which is a true "local paper"; filled with happy, smiling faces, important community news and, of course, a little gossip.
The Gazette has grown with the town of Wauchope and has always upheld the excellent reputation which began when the first paper came off the press back in 1907. Readership exceeds 80 per cent in the urban area of Wauchope.

The Market The Wauchope Gazette, which has been part of the community for almost 100 years, is based in Wauchope, a vibrant country town located just 18 kilometres from the popular seaside centre of Port Macquarie. The historic Oxley Highway passes through the town and continues west to Walcha, Tamworth and the New England region.
Wauchope serves as the inland regional centre of one of the fastest growing areas in Australia.
Important contributions to the local economy include tourism, agriculture, timber and forestry, horticulture, manufacturing and service industries.
Wauchope’s rich heritage as a timber town, its colonial past and genuine country hospitality make the town a popular holiday destination and an ideal place to live. Nestled in the lush Hastings Valley, the Wauchope district has a growing population of almost 10,000 people.
Among Wauchope’s major employers is the Hastings Valley Dairy which was started by a small group of dairy farmers and has expanded to a membership in excess of 5200 residents, The Co-op’s operations include a milk and dairy products factory, a supermarket, department store, petrol station and farm supplies store.
Wauchope also has the perfect infrastructure for light, medium and heavy industry all of which are encouraged to the area.
