The Paper

The Camden Haven Courier, a free home delivered publication, has maximum penetration within its market area with 7,450 published each Wednesday. Covering all local news issues, sports, school news and entertainment it is considered the “local bible” by its readers and is the only newspaper to totally cover the Camden Haven area. Advertisers within the Camden Haven can take advantage of liftover facilities to other newspapers within the Regional Publishers group through the office of the Camden Haven Courier situated in Bold Street, Laurieton.

The Market

Situated midway between the bustling regional cities of Taree and Port Macquarie the Camden Haven area remains an unspoilt paradise surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes and sea.

Laurieton, now regarded as the unofficial “capital” of the Camden Haven, along with its sister townships of North Haven and Dunbogan, nestles around the Camden Haven River at the foot of North Brother Mountain, provides a unique, family-orientated holiday destination.

The Camden Haven hinterland boasts rich dairy and beef cattle pasture land, with the township of Kendall renowned for its markets and craft outlets.

Further east, the seaside villages of Bonny Hills and Lake Cathie add further holiday appeal to the region.

Major employers in the district are tourism and entertainment-based industries, although Herons Creek still boasts the largest timber mill in the southern hemisphere.

With a large retiree population, aged care needs are well catered for in the Camden Haven, along with an attractive and comprehensive shopping centre.
